Sections with AI in SharePoint Pages

We’re introducing Sections with AI, a new SharePoint authoring experience that enables users to generate rich, full-fidelity page sections using natural language prompts. This feature leverages Copilot to understand page context, suggest relevant content, and generate dynamic sections that incorporate organizational knowledge, documents, and meeting transcripts. This enhancement simplifies content creation and improves productivity by reducing manual effort and enabling more intelligent, context-aware page building.

When this will happen

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout begins early September 2025 (previously mid-August) and is expected to complete by mid-November 2025 (previously mid-October).

How this affects your organization

Sections with AI will be automatically available to all SharePoint tenants with a Copilot license. This feature introduces a new way for users to create rich, full-fidelity sections on SharePoint pages using natural language prompts.

These steps allow users to:

Select or write prompts to generate new sections.
Ground prompts in relevant files for more accurate results.
Toggle between multiple generated options and choose their favorite.
Refine both content and layout using natural language commands (e.g., “make the text more professional” or “add John Smith’s contact information”).
Add the final section to the page canvas and edit it like any other section.

This feature is on by default for eligible tenants.
