What is M365 Change Digest?
M365 Change Digest shows Microsoft 365 Message Center posts in a form that is quick to scan. It is meant for people who want to know what is changing in Microsoft 365 but do not have, or do not want to open, the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Posts are synced from a Microsoft 365 tenant once a day. Each one gets a one-line summary, tags and an attention level generated by AI, so you can see at a glance what a change is about and whether it needs you.
Key features
-
AI summaries
Every post has a short AI-written summary, so you get the point without reading the whole announcement.
-
Search
Search by title, summary or MC ID. Searching for an ID such as MC1234567 always looks across all months.
-
Filters
Narrow the list by AI tag, product and month, and sort by attention, date, action-by date or category.
-
E-mail digests

-
Attention levels
Each post is scored so the changes most likely to need action come first.
Attention levels
Every post shows an attention level. It is always written out, never shown by colour alone:
- High
- Action may be required. Read it carefully.
- Medium
- A notable change that is worth reading.
- Low
- Informational; nothing to do right now.
The level comes from what Microsoft says about the post (major change, category, severity, new-feature signals and how close the action-by date is), plus an AI assessment that can only raise it for the most urgent posts.
AI tags
AI tags each post by who and what it affects. The tags come in three groups:
- Audience
- User changes that end users will notice
- Admin changes for IT administrators
- Topic
- Security security updates and features
- Network network or connectivity changes
- Compliance governance, data residency and handling, or Microsoft Purview (DLP, eDiscovery, retention)
- Copilot license
- Copilot License Copilot features that need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license
- No Copilot License Copilot features available without that license
When you filter by tags, a post must match at least one ticked tag in every group you use. For example, ticking Admin and Security shows posts for admins that are about security.
Action-by dates
When Microsoft gives a date by which you need to act, that date is shown as is. When Microsoft gives none, AI may find a key date in the post text; that date is marked AI estimate.
What the AI does, and does not do
Azure OpenAI reads the public text of each Message Center post and writes the summary, suggested actions, topics, AI tags, and sometimes an action-by date. It never sees your tenant or your data. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, so the original post, shown in full on every post page, is always the authority.
Frequently asked questions
How often is the data updated?
Once a day, outside working hours.
What do “MS” and “AI” mean in the product filter?
MS is Microsoft’s own service tag on the post. AI is an extra topic that AI found in the post text.
Why does the list only show one month?
By default the list shows the latest month. Pick All months in the Month filter to see everything; results are shown 50 per page.
