We’re updating the PDF preview experience in Outlook for iOS. This change adds support for Microsoft Information Protection (MIP)–labeled PDFs and introduces a built-in controls toolbar to improve navigation and search when viewing PDF attachments.

General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): Rollout begins in early July 2026 and is expected to complete by early September 2026.

What will happen:

Users can preview MIP-labeled (protected) PDF files directly in Outlook for iOS.

Zoom in and out
Page navigation
Keyword search within the PDF

The Open in Copilot button has moved to the More (…) menu in the upper-right corner.
The feature is enabled by default.
No changes are made to current admin configurations or user workflows beyond the enhanced preview experience.
